This special art show and reception celebrated our 20 years as a nonprofit organization. Our artists proudly displayed their masterpiece paintings and sculptures for their friends and families created throughout their artistic journey with Art Therapy Express.

Summer Camps and Professional Art Shows

All human beings are expressive creatures with boundless imagination and creative skills. When we build a foundation for these skills, we can begin to use art as a tool for self-expression, communication, and connection with others.

Art Therapy Express designs a 6-week summer journey each summer as artists explore a new expressive art medium or visit creative outdoor venues. Sessions introduce a wide range of new techniques by a master’s level art therapist with 35 years of experience, 2 UD visual arts summer scholars, and a master’s level art therapy intern. This program explores a variety of creative arts modalities and visual arts techniques along with a place to meet new friends while gathering together in a joy-filled, indoor or outdoor environment! Adaptive tools and technology are introduced for students needing special accommodations.

ArtFest

Artfest is a yearly partnership between the University of Delaware Center for Disability Studies and Art Therapy Express. This free community event offers individuals with disabilities opportunities to express themselves with accessible art tools and to build connections with supportive University of Delaware student volunteers.
