Internships are offered for individuals year-round. We offer up to 400 hour internships for individuals. 

*All interns must complete an orientation

Fields of Interest

Art Therapy Express provides opportunities for individuals to gain real world experience through internships. Our interns are pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a wide variety of fields such as Art Therapy, Psychology, Health Behavior Science, Occupational Therapy, Human Services, Human Development and Family Studies, Administration, Special Education, Visual Arts and so many more.

Where Interns Come From

Art Therapy Express works closely with colleges and universities in and outside Delaware. Many of our interns come from local schools such as the University of Delaware, Delaware Technical Community College and Wilmington University. Students from all schools are welcome to intern with Art Therapy Express.

Internship requirements:

•      College or university students

•      Committed and available for the hours needed to complete the internship

•      Art Studio Classes: volunteers can assist participants while they complete their art during studio sessions

•      Events: Volunteers can assist to plan and run events Art Therapy Express hosts or participates in

•      Administrative Support: choose volunteer coordinator, marketing, social media, or fundraising activities with a flexible schedule
